Cave and Mine Rescue Training

October 2004, Mine Extraction Training

The cave rescue training on Friday, September 15th was informative and interesting. Several members of WCSMRU and Chad Geilman attended the class held by Utah Cave SAR. For more information on this group go to: http://www.caveutah.com.

The cave rescue practical was held on September 16th at Tony's Grove. It ended up being more of a rescue than training. A couple of kids were stuck on a cliff and our team lowered one of them off the cliff face. However, the group did get to do some caving and Robert Cranney took these images.

Here is another good resource for cave rescue: http://www.search-rescue.net/caving-caverescue-info.htm

Multiple Counties Training, January 6, 2001, Powder Mountain

This was the first of several interagency trainings conducted in preparation for the Olympics. These images were taken by Weber County Sheriff Mountain Rescue Unit member Roy West (using Sheri's camera.) For now all of the images Roy took are displayed without comment in thumbnail format. Contact Sheri if you'd like a higher resolution version of any of these shots.

The Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office Allied Agencies Search and Rescue has a lot of training information with lots of details. (The animated knots are cool too.)
