News:

_The Climbing wall at the fair went well. We raised $1036.00 for the team. The team paid for 14 shirts for the people who worked more that 8 hours at the fair. Thank you to everyone who participated. Chad Geilman worked to get the scaffolding loaned for the fair, from Howe Rents. Mark got Hansen Mountaineering to loan the extra harnesses.

_After the Fair Chad Geilman contacted Rocky Mountain Masonry. They have permanently donated the scaffolding for us. Thank you Chad for all your hard work in locating this.

_Team shirts. There are "golf" shirts available to everyone. They are a grey with embroidered Sheriff's star, Search & Rescue on one side and your name on the other side. There will be one available to see at the meeting. These are $21.00 and you can contact Brad Randall. These shirts are for PR things (i.e.: Climbsafe, parades, fair, etc.), they are not our call out shirts. The Sheriff's office has decided to have everyone's call out shirts be the same also. It will be a red t-shirt, what exactly is on it is still being decided.

_On the roster there are a few changes. The deputy's call numbers have changed. Please note this when you are using their number. Steve Mayne has returned to the team after being inactive for a couple of years. Welcome back. Lee Schussman, a founding member of the team has resigned. Lee has been inactive for a while, and moved to Idaho. He was hoping to be back more than he has, but it hasn't worked out. Sorry to see you go, Lee.

_With SARFAP (reimbursement of funds for SAR) we receive 100% reimbursement for the period of July 98 - July 99. Brad has put in a lot of work for this and it has paid off. At the meeting we will be putting together a "wish list" of equipment and trainings.

_Several people went to Box Elder's Desert Survival Seminar. Jeff Malan, Brad Randall, & John Crowley all placed in shooting contests. There was also a night GPS course. They learned a lot and want to pass it on to us. Jeff & Brad will be putting on a basic/how to use your GPS class (Date, time, & location TBA).

_The Sheriff's office is talking to the Forest Service about putting an antenna on Little Monte. This should help with communications in the area.

_Sheri will talk about and show the Photon lights that we can purchase.

_The latest OEC class is FINALLY over. Congratulations to all who passed the class: John Crowley, Nate Crowther, Allan Kap, Annette King, Jeff King, Mont King, Dave Lehman, Mary Lehman, Lane McPheeters, Art Pluim, Mark Pluim, Richard Schroeder. And thanks to all who helped with the class and the test.

_The internet site that John Sohl put on the web is: http://planet.weber.edu/sar. John and Sheri have spent a lot of time an effort re-doing the page. Check it out.
