- To remain a member in good standing you are expected to attend the Tuesday monthly
meetings and the monthly training/service sessions. The dates shown in bold are
the MRU specific sessions you should plan on attending. The other units have
invited us to their training sessions which are also shown below.

News:
_Regan Howell handed out new rosters. Please check your
information for accuracy and get back to Regan
with any changes.
_February was a busy month. Kudos to Lt. Jeff Malan,
Deputy Brad Randall, and Deputy Ron Kendell along with all MRU members who helped out with
the various avalanche and winter rescue trainings.
_Roy West handed out information on the 2000 Snow and Ice
Conference to be hosted by the Bonneville County Sheriff's Search and Rescue in Idaho
Falls, ID on March 10-12. For more information contact John
Sohl, or page Roy West at (801) 479-9290, or visit the BCSSAR. There is also information about this
conference, including the agenda on the calendar
in the pop-up window that you can access by clicking on the entry "MRU recert. in
ID."
_Roy West also handed out information on the 2000 MRA
Conference in Alberta, Canada on June 23-25. For more information contact

the MRA. There is also information about this conference,
on the calendar.
_John Sohl outlined current plans for the upcoming Rock
Recertification to be held at the Environmental Center on 21-23 July. For more information
contact John Sohl.
_Lane McPheeters opened discussions regarding this year's
Safe Climb Seminar. Plans are still tentative but part of the Seminar will be held at
Wayne Aprill's new climbing gym. Richard Schroeder volunteered to pull together some of
the details. For more information contact Richard via his pager at (801) 591-2739.
_Jeff Hirschi mentioned that the spring Swiftwater Rescue
Training will be held during the regularly scheduled training time on June 10. For more
information call Jeff's pager at (801) 591-0533.
_There is a new WCSSAR calendar on the web listing all of
the trainings, conferences, and general events pertaining to specific WCSSAR teams and all
the teams as a whole. Take a look at it and
send your comments to Sheri. This calendar
also has the neat feature of sending out email reminders of upcoming events. If you would
like to take advantage of this feature contact Sheri.
